Pork Belly Thins with Dates, Soft Cheese, Honey & Thyme
These little bites layer the rich crispness of our Pork Belly Thins with soft cheese, sweet dates, fragrant thyme and a drizzle of honey. The contrast of textures crisp, creamy, chewy and glossy — makes them a standout canapé for any occasion.
Ingredients (makes 8-10 bites)
8-10 slices of Pork Belly Thins (1 Pack)
8-10 Medjool dates, sliced halfway and pitted
50g soft cheese (such as goat’s cheese, mascarpone or cream cheese)
Runny honey, for drizzling
A few sprigs of fresh thyme to finish
Method
Slice the dates:
Slice the dates halfway through and remove the pit. Pull the date open gently making sure not to split it in half.
Insert the cheese:
Place a small piece of cheese inside each date and push the sides in to secure.
Wrap with pork belly:
Lay each slice of pork belly on a board or counter and wrap the cheese filled date with the thins.
Place the canapé in an air fryer or under the grill until golden and crisp. Set aside on a paper towel to cool slightly.
To finish:
Drizzle over runny honey and sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the top for a hint of herbal aroma.
Serve immediately:
Best enjoyed warm, when the pork belly is crisp and the honey just begins to mingle with the cheese.
